When Cosplay Goes Wrong

There are some pretty good cosplayers out there. Some are sexy while others are awesome but then there are ones like… Man Faye.

I’ve collected twenty pictures of awful cosplayers. If you are thinking about dressing up as a video game character, consider this a guide instructing you how NOT to look.

Video Game Halloween Costumes (Part 2)

Last time, I wrote about video game characters who I would like to see people dress up as and show up at my door. Most of the characters would be a little expensive to dress up as however, so in my second Halloween costume article, I am going to focus on something more affordable. The Halloween mask! While some of the characters you’ll see here aren’t originally from games, they’ve still been featured in them before.

These masks are all available online, so don’t hesitate to head over to eBay or online Halloween stores if one of these inspires you!

Beast from X-Men. He seems to be so unpopular, doesn’t he? Everyone wants to be Wolverine on Halloween. No Beast love? Somebody should dress up as him and stick out.

It’s Chewbacca, isn’t that enough!?

Gollum from Lord of the Rings. I guess this one would be great if you have a small frame? I think that I’ve seen one Gollum on Halloween before, but that’s probably it.

One of the bigger assholes of the Warcraft universe. I don’t like Illidan, but I’ll admit that this is a cool mask. The detail is nice. I’ve never seen anyone dressed as a Warcraft character before, so this could be a good choice!

Kratos from God of War. Is he really this pale? Probably cool for God of War fans, but I’ve never played the games before. However, it goes without saying that there have probably been very few Kratos’ looking for candy each October 31.

Come on, you just know that a Resident Evil costume would be fitting for Halloween! Lickers are fan favourites and would definitely get a lot of attention.

Master Chief helmets are very affordable. You wouldn’t have to worry about a saggy mask for a face, either. Definitely a cool idea if you’re a Halo fan.
Predator masks seem to come with helmets, so there’s a bonus if you decide to go out as a predator. Just make sure you don’t bring any sharp objects along with you, yeah? The police wouldn’t like that.

Another Warcraft one! I’m posting this one just because it strikes me as being sort of silly. Trolls in Warcraft are fairly silly anyhow, so it all works out. “Ya wanna be a Troll, mon?”

I’ll try to come up with another Halloween costume post sometime. Hope these ideas help you!

Video Game Halloween Costumes (Part 1)

Here is the first of a few Halloween themed articles I’ll write this month. To start things off, here’s a few video game characters that I would personally like to open my door to on October 31 this year.

Duck Hunt Dog
I’ve seen people dress up as dogs before, but never have I seen anybody dress up as the Duck Hunt dog. I really only want to see somebody dress up as this pooch so that they can carry around at least one dead duck, just to piss off a few people. Of course, it wouldn’t be a REAL duck… But come on, it would be great. It would be easy to pull off too, just paint a rubber chicken or something.

Duke Nukem
With Duke Nukem Forever officially coming out next year, there should be a renewed interest in everything Duke. This includes Halloween. Even if his games aren’t that cool anymore, it would be pretty awesome to see somebody dress up as Duke. It would be the most badass Halloweeen costume ever, especially if the person dressed as Duke would make smartass remarks constantly. Keep in mind that the materials needed to dress as Duke are available at any Walmart.

Fat Princess
I just think that larger girls need something else to dress up as other than scantily clad witches. Please please please… Be the Fat Princess? For me? Skinny girls can try it too, but I think it may require a lot of stuffing.

Gordon Freeman
The man saved the damn world and we can’t even repay him by dressing up like him on Halloween? He is one of the coolest video game characters ever. Maybe his bio suit thing is what is stopping people? I suppose it might be a little hard to make, unless you’re really devoted.

Jinpachi Mishima
Imagine opening your door and finding a bare-chested old man with a gaping mouth with large fangs in the middle of his torso. If your kid wants to dress up as the devil, then I say take it all the way and make them dress as Jinpachi. Make a big paper mache mouth and stick it on them. It’ll be fun!

Lich King
Just because he is so badass. Plus he’s officially dead now, so you’d be dressing up as a dead person! That is very Halloween-like. The armor might be really costly and time consuming. Even though I’d love to see Arthas ask me for candy on Halloween, it may never happen.

Morrigan Aensland
Forget Felicia! If any slutty girls want to dress up on Halloween, then Morrigan is the way to go. Even as a 2D sprite, this gal was pretty much the skankiest looking thing ever in video games. Since pretty girls seem to love looking like whores on Halloween, I think that it is only natural that they go with Morrigan this year.

This is seriously a no brainer. Imagine how many new friends you would make if you dressed up as a murloc. After Halloween, you could stay in the costume and just chill by the water for the night. EVERY SINGLE PERSON would love the costume. Come on, a murloc. I’d give you every single piece of candy I have and then some if you showed up at my door as a murloc!

Be gross and dead! Be a necromorph! Dead Space fans, if you can somehow pull this off then that would be awesome. Just for the love of all things sacred, don’t lodge things into your body to give yourself that authentic necromorph look!

This is probably the easiest costume idea out of all of them! A little makeup, a simple wig, and clothes from the local second hand shop and presto! Pipboy!

A slightly harder “boy” to dress up as, and possibly a little suffocating. If you could deal with being very warm and having trouble breathing for the night, then this is definitely the costume for you! AND JUST THINK!! If you dressed up as Sackboy, then you could put another costume on over top and it would still make sense!

Sarah Kerrigan
Only Kerrigan can look both hot and repulsive at the same time. Kudos to Blizzard on that. I think Kerrigan is the perfect costume for any hot girls with money who want to dress up. Dress up as Kerrigan, girls! Your hotness will still shine through, but the zerg features will make you look sort of gross too, which is perfect for Halloween!

Just for the hair. That is all. Moving on..

Sweet Tooth
If your kid wants to dress up as a clown on Halloween, then let him. Make sure that you also set his head on fire though… But only after making sure you do in a way that will not kill him! Yeah, you don’t want to kill your kid when he’s excited about getting free candy.

Tifa Lockheart
If you are a girl and you have gigantic boobs, then, well….

I would die from laughing and pissing myself if I ever saw anybody dressed as Voldo. I would also imagine that I’d see the police show up too, because dressing as Voldo would probably make you look like a child molester, and Halloween is probably a bad night for that. But still… Voldo! Somebody should do it.

Just get the biggest pillow case that you can find and fill it with random shit. Attach eyes and a mouth to the outside and you’d be set. Bring a fake bazooka or rocket launcher with you, or better yet, make your friend dress up as a sheep.

A zombie from Plants vs Zombies to be specific. Wear a pylon or bucket on your head for a few chuckles, too! I saw somebody dressed up as this zombie on YouTube (they even made a head) so it shouldn’t be too hard. Plus Halloween and zombies go hand in hand. This would be a very fitting costume, I think!

As the month goes on, I’ll post more characters who I’d like to see represented on Halloween this year.
